Thinking about upgrading to a stronger home?
Did you know that Hurricane Andrew, the monster storm that pummeled Florida on August 24, 1992, inspired an update to the Florida Building Code? In 2002 the enhanced building code was put into affect making all new homes built in Florida more able to withstand major storms going forward. There have been a number of amendments since 2002 and today's brand new homes are built to the highest standard ever seen in the sunshine state. (Have a brief look at the history of the Florida Building Code here.)
